This Privacy Policy explains how LIGUE INC ("Ligue," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile and web applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"), available through ligue.app, portal.ligue.app, and related domains and applications.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Our address is 2125 Biscayne Blvd, Ste 303, Miami, FL 33137, and you can reach us at Support@ligue.app.
1. About Our Role
Ligue provides software that sports organizations ("Organizations") use to operate leagues, tournaments, camps, and programs. In many cases, an Organization decides what information to collect about its participants and why, and we process that information on the Organization's behalf. In those situations, the Organization is responsible for its own privacy practices and for obtaining any required consents (including parental consent for minors). This Policy describes our own practices and applies to information for which we determine the purposes and means of processing.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account and profile information: name, email address, phone number, password, role (such as administrator, coach, player, or parent), and Organization details.
- Participant and roster information: names, ages or dates of birth, team and division assignments, jersey numbers, emergency contacts, and similar details provided by Organizations, parents, or participants.
- Payment information: billing details and, for Organizations receiving payouts, identity and bank-account information required by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). Payment-card numbers are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are not received or stored by Ligue.
- Communications and content: messages, announcements, photos, video, livestreams, statistics, logos, and other content you submit through the Service.
- Verification information: information submitted or generated in connection with age-verification or background-check features. When an Organization chooses to run a background check, the relevant identity information is transmitted through our integration to a third-party background-check provider that performs the screening; Ligue does not perform the screening itself.
- Support and correspondence: information you provide when you contact us.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect device and usage information, such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, pages and features used, referring URLs, and timestamps. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function properly without them.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from Stripe (our payment processor), background-check and verification providers, analytics providers, and Organizations that add you to their programs.
3. Children's Privacy
The Service is used in connection with youth sports and may involve information about children. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and other applicable laws.
- Age screening at signup. The Service collects each user's date of birth during registration and does not allow anyone under 18 to create or independently complete their own account.
- Parent-completed registration for minors. If a user indicates they are under 18, the Service requests a parent's or guardian's email address and requires the parent or guardian to complete the registration. For a child under 13, the parent or guardian's completion of registration is how we obtain verifiable parental consent before the child's account becomes active and before we collect personal information from the child to provide the Service (for example, to manage rosters, schedules, registrations, statistics, and communications).
- Invitation-based access. Apart from Organization owners, users join the Service only by invitation from an Organization, which provides an additional layer of oversight over who participates.
- Data minimization. We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity, and we do not knowingly use children's information for behavioral advertising.
- Parental rights. Parents and guardians may review their child's information, request that we delete it, and refuse further collection by contacting us at Support@ligue.app or the relevant Organization. We may need to verify your identity before acting on such a request.
If you believe a child's account was created or information was provided without proper parental consent, please contact us immediately so we can address it.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create and manage accounts, rosters, registrations, schedules, standings, and statistics;
- Process payments, payouts, and marketplace transactions;
- Facilitate communications, announcements, livestreams, and notifications;
- Facilitate age-verification and, when an Organization initiates one, transmit information to and from our integrated third-party background-check provider;
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, and detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Analyze usage to understand and improve the Service;
- Send administrative, transactional, and (where permitted) marketing communications; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information as follows:
- With Organizations and their authorized users: to operate programs, rosters, schedules, communications, and payments. For example, an administrator or coach may see participant information within their Organization, and parents may see information relating to their child.
- With our background-check provider: when an Organization initiates a background check through the Service, we transmit the relevant identity information to our integrated third-party background-check provider, which performs the screening as a consumer reporting agency under its own terms and privacy policy.
- With other service providers: companies that perform services for us, such as hosting, payment processing (Stripe), SMS/text delivery (Twilio), email delivery (SendGrid), age verification, analytics, and livestreaming infrastructure. These providers may access information only to perform services for us and under obligations of confidentiality.
- For payments: with Stripe, our payment processor, to complete and manage transactions, payouts, and connected accounts. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Ligue, our users, or others.
- In business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or otherwise consent.
Some sharing for analytics or advertising purposes may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state laws; see Section 9 for your rights and choices.
6. Communications
We may send you Service-related messages (such as registration confirmations, schedule updates, and administrative notices), which you cannot opt out of while you maintain an account. Text messages are delivered through Twilio and emails through SendGrid. With your consent where required, we may also send marketing messages, which you can opt out of at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe option in an email, or contacting us. Message and data rates may apply to text messages.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Organizations may also control the retention and deletion of information within their accounts.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access or obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and limit the use of sensitive personal information. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. Individuals in the EEA or UK, where applicable, may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR.
To exercise your rights, contact us at Support@ligue.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted. If your information is managed by an Organization, we may direct your request to that Organization. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services, including Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS/text messaging), SendGrid (email delivery), a background-check and verification provider, and streaming infrastructure. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party service you use.
11. International Users
Ligue is based in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States and potentially other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means and update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
